The True Essence of Masonic Symbols
Among the most mysterious symbols in the world are those of the Masons. Yet, upon deep examination, it becomes clear that modern Freemasons no longer comprehend the true essence of these symbols. The reason is that—just like the Oral Torah—the ancient mysteries were transmitted only orally and only to the chosen ones.
Those chosen were the Median Magi of Gelad, whom the Torah calls the Chaldeans—from the very land where the Tower of Babel was built. That tower was erected by the first divine beings who possessed the universal celestial language called safa—known to us today as Sufism. The Qur’an refers to this same sacred tongue as the “language of the birds” of King Solomon. Only those who knew the inner logic of Sufism could understand the hidden meanings of Masonic symbols.
These Median Magi of Gelad are referred to in the Torah as the Gileadite Ishmaelites of Midian. In ancient Egyptian texts they are mentioned as theurgic priests of the city of Gel (Hel), which Albanian sources called Gelar-Kuni. It was their ancestors who came from the East and built the Tower of Babylon (Babilon)—which, in Sufi reading, also means Alban. Ancient sources call Caucasian Albania the “Land of the East,” and Sufi sages such as Yahya Suhrawardi meant by this not a terrestrial place but the heavenly kingdom of spirits. Thus, “The Grand Orient” became the name of the principal Masonic order—considered the earthly reflection of the immortal council of Pharaohs’ spirits, composed of 33 sages, led by the Spirit of Pharaoh Amon, the Creator of the cosmic god Osiris-Asar, his heavenly realm, and all humanity.
Pharaoh Amon, together with his 32 assistants, is symbolically reflected:
– in the Avesta as the 33 Immortal Saints (Amesha Spentas);
– in Buddhism as the Trayastrimsha, the assembly of 33 celestial gods;
– in Russian legends as the 33 bogatyrs;
– and in Masonry as the 33 degrees of initiation.
In Islam, these 33 holy ones are known as the Golden Lineage of the Sadat and Imam Ali. This means that the descendants of the 33 divine Pharaohs—the founders of civilization—are the extreme Shiites, the Median Ismailites of Gelad.
The Masons call the Father of all Pharaohs, Amon, the Great Architect of the Universe. In ancient Iranian sources these Pharaohs were called Farnbags and Fratarakas—that is, Pharaoh-Beks or Pharaoh-Turks. Other texts call them the Turkic Beks of Khazaria, the Land of God Azer.
The main symbol of the Masons—“the Free Masons”—is the compass and square, between which stands the great letter G. This letter symbolizes the primordial matter, Eloah, known in Sufism as Hü – Ilah. Therefore, for Masons, building is not mere construction—it is an act of creation, linked with the primordial substance, Eloah.
The compass and the square represent the measurement of heavenly structures and the creation of a metaphysical architecture. In the Mesopotamian text Enuma Elish it is said: “The Lord, who measures the ocean, in his palace Eschar, like unto heaven, built a great palace and gave it to Anu, Enlil, and Ea. That palace became the symbol of the Universe.”
Thus, the ancestors of the Masons built an earthly palace mirroring the cosmos. In the Torah, the Tower of Babel is described as a structure “whose top reaches unto heaven,” built by beings who came from the East.
The phrase Enuma Elish in Sufi reading becomes “Ulus Amon”—“The World of God Amon.” And the symbol Eschar corresponds to Azer / Asar – Osiris. Hence, the Freemasons were the builders of the Tower of Babel, atop which the heavenly realm of the dead, the kingdom of Osiris, was created. The name Asar means “Mighty” and was written with hieroglyphs showing the royal throne and the all-seeing eye.
The symbol of the Tower of Babel is represented by the columns Jachin and Boaz, similar to the Pillars of Hercules—supports of the celestial world of Osiris’ spirits. The two pillars signify two heavenly kingdoms: the first (Alpha) of the solar god Ra-Amon, and the last (Omega) of the lunar god Sin, who will appear at the end of time. In Masonic symbolism these two deities are often depicted as two riders on one horse—and the horse, in Sufism, symbolizes the system of governing the world through the primordial matter. The Indian Upanishads describe in detail the ritual of creating this celestial horse—Ashvamedha.
The ladder in Masonry symbolizes Jacob’s Ladder (Sulam) connecting Earth and Heaven. The word Sulam, in the universal sacred tongue, is also read as Salim or Islam. Hence, this ladder elevates the chosen ones into the heavenly city of Salim—the Celestial Jerusalem, which in Sufi reading is Urus-Alem, meaning “The World of God Asar–Osiris.”
All this shows that the first foundations of Masonry were laid by the Ismailite Pharaoh-Beks of Gelad, also called Gels in some sources.
It is believed that Masonry arose from the secret societies of 16th–18th century Europe. But long before that, there existed a hidden brotherhood of Gulyards—the Sons of Gul, who ruled almost all of Europe. In his book “The Language of the Birds: The Secret History of Europe,” Grasset d’Orcet emphasizes that the Gulyards and the Masons are one and the same brotherhood, worshipping Saint Gall (Gul or Hel).
The symbol Gel (Hel), as well as Gall, in Sufism is identical with Eloah—meaning that Saint Gel is none other than Eloah, Ilah, whom Muslims call Allah.
The first Masons linked their teaching with the Ismailites of Hasan ibn Sabbah, considering him the Great Master of the Secret Doctrines of Islam, possessing power over life and death. The very word freemason, in Sufi reading, means “the people of Pharaoh Sin.”And the word “Mason” in the universal language means “Am-Sin” or “Umma-Sin” — the people who await Sin.
The symbol Sin referred to Mount Sin and its rulers—the Syunik kings of Syunik, descendants of the Albanian Aranshahids. For the Ismailites of Gelad, Sin also symbolized the last God, who will appear at the end of the world to resurrect Osiris and his heavenly kingdom. In Masonry, this image corresponds to the Prophet Elijah, who in Sufi logic is another aspect of Imam Ali, the twelfth Imam and the twelfth prophet-king of Israel.
In Masonic symbolism, the 12 sons of Israel are often shown as 13, for at the end of times God sends two angels. Thus, on the U.S. dollar bill, saturated with Masonic symbols, the number 13 is repeated many times: 13 steps, 13 stars, 13 stripes, 13 olive leaves, 13 arrows. This represents the 11 + 2 kings of Israel, the heavenly kingdom of God Azer–Asar–Osiris.
The main goal of ancient Masonry was to prepare for the coming of Sin—the Master Elijah—and to welcome him as a King. This image is depicted as the floating top of the pyramid, which will descend to its rightful place when Elijah–the Master arrives, and God completes His creation.
But the later Masons no longer belonged to the lineage of Gel, and thus they forgot the Language of the Birds. They began to think by the logic of mortal men—and that was the beginning of the destruction of the world.
